this weekend i was reading in the paper and i read about the return of (ex-)king leka to albania. And since then i am wondering how did the albanian (ex)royal palaces look(ed) liked in this (almost forgotten) european country. I did a little research on the history (they only have had a 'real' royal family since ~1929), the castles (they have some nice ruins in albania: like castle rozafa near shkodra and ruin above kruja) and on the royal palaces, but on the latest i couldn't find much, only the mentions that there are a summerpalace in durres and two palaces in Tirana, the capital, one is called the Brigades palaces. if i understand well they are all used as guest residences of the albanian government. i couldn't find anything on the history or how the buildings look like. So my question is: i am curious does some one know how did buildings look like? are they big or small? And how old are they? were they built around 1925 when the first king comes to the throne or were they older, from the times of the ottoman empire: an old palace or mansion of a bey or so. In which style are they? A neostyle, something like a mini-buckingham palace, or more traditional, a sort of ottoman style? i hope some one can give me clue.ipflo hi
